Arees Institute was founded by Shaikh Isam Rajab, a classically trained scholar.

About Shaikh Isam Rajab

Shaikh Isam was born in Kuwait and holds a BA in Shari’ah from the Islamic University of Madinah. He also has a MS in Islamic Law and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Al-Azhar University in Egypt. He holds 2 ijazahs in Quran and has mastered all 10 recitations. His isnad is the highest in North America. His expertise is Islamic inheritance laws. He lives in Houston and serves as the Imam of Mission Bend Masjid.

What is AlMaghrib?

To study overseas is indeed a very enriching experience, but not everyone is blessed with such an opportunity. Our hectic schedules often sideline our in-depth study of Islam. It is for this reason that AlMaghrib Institute was established, and has dedicated itself to providing courses on Islam in a six-day, two weekend, intensive seminar format. These trademark double-weekend university-style seminars carry students toward a bachelor's degree in the Islamic Studies.

At IAU, you can conveniently work towards a degree or take classes to enhance your Islamic knowledge by taking classes online, on campus or via correspondence. Our methods of delivery offer students more choices and with our online program, classes are accessible 24 hours a day. IAU has grown from a project by the Muslim American Society (MAS); which is the nation’s largest grass roots Islamic organization.
