The Saints and Sufis are like guides and mentors in the purview of Islamic society; these saints promoted the ideals of peace and harmony, love and brotherhood and social tolerance in the society. Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Masood Ganj Shukar holds a very important position due to his educational thoughts about the concept of social tolerance. Baba Farid in his blessed life adorned the human society with education, offered guidance, and played a key role to promote the concept of social tolerance.
Baba Farid himself was a distinguished scholar and he instructed his followers to pursue their efforts for acquiring knowledge. He used sermons and poetry as a medium of teaching as a method to establish interfaith harmony in the society and set the supreme example of Islamic concept of tolerance for the followers of other religions. The legacy of Baba Farid's educational services and strives for social tolerance were carried forward by his followers while rejecting all sort of discrimination in society. This research paper highlights the concept of social tolerance in the teachings of Baba Farid.
